Education System in Malaysia

What are the main requirements to study in Malaysia?

International students must have at least twelve (12) years of education and have undergone a national/international examination recognized by the Ministry of Education for the purpose of admission to diploma or degree programmes.

How many INTAKES are there?

Intakes happens four/five times for Bachelor courses and three/four times for Post-graduate courses per year at Malaysian universities.

How long will it take me to get a Visa Approval Letter (VAL)?

It should take approximately 6 weeks upon receipt of a complete application and payment.

Do I need to undergo Medical Screening to qualify for Visa?

Medical screening is a mandatory requirement for every international student. The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) has laid down criteria for the assessment of the health condition of international students which must be compiled with.

What are my accommodation options?

Universities and colleges in Malaysia offer accommodation options for their students either within the campus or at a close distance to the main university campus. Off-campus accommodation in the form of private student hostels and apartments are also available.
